چکیده

speaking, do not have roots, rather they form mycorrhiza. There are seven principle types of mycorrhiza. The two most important mycorrhizas are the endomycorrhiza and ectomycorrhiza. Endomycorrhiza typically colonize herbaceous plants, shrubs, many ornamental, fruit and nut trees, vegetables and agronomic crops, and turf grasses. More than 85% of higher plants form endomycorrhizal associations. The ecotomycorrhiza form associations with conifers, pines, and hardwoods such as ! " around 10% of higher plants. Some plants, such as eucalyptus will form both endoand ectomycorrhizal associations.

Differential efficiency of two strains of the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus Rhizophagus irregularis on olive (Olea europaea) plants under two water regimes M. J. Bompadre,

The water regime affects a wide variety of physiological and biochemical processes in plants including an increased production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) capable of causing oxidative damage to proteins, DNA and lipids. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) colonize a wide range of plant species though the ability of different AMF species to promote host growth or contribute to plant water de...

Arbuscular mycorrhizal inoculation following biocide treatment improves Calocedrus decurrens survival and growth in nursery and outplanting sites

Commercial production of tree seedlings often includes various biocidal soil treatments for disease control. Such treatments can be effective in eliminating or reducing disease organisms in the soil, but may also eliminate non-targeted beneficial soil organisms, such as mycorrhizal fungi, that improve seedling performance, both in the nursery as well as the outplanted environment. The arbuscula...

Impact of mycorrhizal fungi and water stress on oil and protein harvest index in sesame

Drought stress is one of the most important environmental stresses affecting plant growth, yield and crop production around the world. It is believed that arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi are used for protecting plants against drought damage.Vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi have been used in recent years to cope with water stress in many plants. In this study, the relationship between water d...

Interaction Effect of Arbuscular Mycorrhiza and Redroot Pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus L.) on Growth and Yield of Sunflower under Water Stress Conditions

The management of soil elements by biological fertilizers is considered as an important attribute of sustainable agriculture. In order to evaluate the interaction effects of Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and redroot pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus L.) on growth and yield of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) under water stress conditions, a field study was conducted in 2015 at School of Agricultur...

Inoculation and Successful Colonization of Whitebark Pine Seedlings With Native Mycorrhizal Fungi Under Greenhouse Conditions

Efforts to maintain and restore whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis) forests in western North America have increased dramatically over the last two decades and now include the planting of nursery-grown rust resistant seedlings in openings and burned areas. Over 200,000 nursery seedlings have been planted in the western U.S. but survival rates are low and in many areas approach zero. One possibilit...
